Biking across America is no easy task…it requires a lot of hard work and training, not to mention the right equipment. I have had to purchase a lot of cycling gear for the journey, but I still have a few critical items left to purchase.
As I will be graduating (in two weeks!) and celebrating my birthday on the road, I would be more than happy to receive cash/check as gifts for the purchase of equipment. Here are some of the items and services I still need for my trip:
- Pearl Izumi Slice Ultrasensor – bike shorts ($100)
- Bontrager Race Lite Hardcase Tires ($50 per tire)
- Mountain SPD – Clipless pedals ($60)
- Ergonomic saddle ($80)
- Topeak Road Morph – Air-pump ($35)
- Bento Box ($15)
- ViewPoint Flare 5 LED Headlight ($20)
- Rear view mirror ($30)
- Spare inner tubes
- Patch kit
- Quick-dry camping towel
- Sleeping bag
- Professional bike-fitting ($150)
- Bike shipment – back from the west coast ($70)
- Flight from California back to New York ($$$)
A few of these things are quite specific, and I will need to test them out at the bike store (Marty’s Reliable Cycle of course!). However, if you would like to help out in this way, please contact me and we can work out the details.
